PM Pools & Spas is a hands-on pool company based in Cape May County, operating in Stone Harbor, Avalon, Middle Township, and Dennis Township.. We build custom gunite pools, handle renovations, take care of weekly cleaning and maintenance, open and close pools every season, and repair equipment when something goes wrong. Everything is done by our own team. When you call us, you get us.
More than half of our work comes from repeat customers and referrals. We have been a PHTA member since the day we opened, and we hold some of the most respected certifications in the industry including CBP®, CSP®, CST®, and a Certified Pool Startup Technician® credential through the National Plasterers Council. We also have a retail showroom at 760 Route 47 N. in Cape May Court House where you can stop in for pool supplies, chemicals, and free water testing.
Dan Young founded PM Pools & Spas in July 2006, but his career in the pool industry started long before that. By the time he opened the doors, he had already spent well over a decade working in nearly every corner of the business, building pools, servicing equipment, managing retail operations, and overseeing day-to-day service across Cape May and Cumberland counties.
In 1999, Dan shifted his focus to the retail and service side of the industry. He became Spa Service Manager and eventually General Manager at his previous employer, a role that gave him a close look at what pool companies do well and where they fall short. When he started PM Pools & Spas, he built it around a straightforward idea: keep things simple for the homeowner, do the work properly, and stand behind it.
Joseph Stackhouse has been part of the PM Pools story since his teenage years, when he first joined the company as a summer pool service technician. After taking time away, he returned to PM Pools in March 2018, bringing with him a renewed commitment and broadened life experience. Since then, he has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, technical expertise, and a dedication to quality that has had a lasting impact on the company’s growth and standards.
In January 2024, Dan approached Joseph about becoming a business partner, and Joseph officially joined as co-owner. Together, they share a commitment to exceptional service, quality craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction throughout Cape May County.
Nearly three decades in the pool business later, that founding idea has not changed. The company is still based in Stone Harbor, still serving the same communities, and still run by the same people who started it.
